Facial Trauma

Facial Trauma

Maxillofacial trauma encompasses injuries to the face, jaw and teeth. Facial trauma also involves the soft tissue. These injuries can result from various causes such as motor vehicle accidents, sports injuries, interpersonal violence, fall and work-related incidents.

Treatment can range from conservative management to surgery. Surgery under general anaesthetics are performed to re-position facial bones, and titanium screws and plates are used to secure the position of facial bones.
